Candidate access and value
Cost, registration friction, clarity about paid features, screening information and whether a candidate can evaluate an opportunity before committing.
Detailed board reviews, practical comparisons and a live vacancy sample. Understand the access rules and trade-offs before choosing another source.
Detailed reviews
A useful board fits your profession, hiring location and search routine. It does not need to win every feature comparison. Our reviews distinguish official product information from editorial interpretation, explain the current score and identify the questions we have not tested. Each includes sources, authorship and a revision date.

The old totals did not expose component marks. We have rebased them to a visible calculation, corrected access descriptions and added a source trail. These changes are editorial corrections, not measured changes in applicants’ hiring prospects. The full review preserves the earlier total and explains the revision.
Rebased the legacy total to the published component model. Corrected the API description: pagination and status checks exist; the feed has a recent-publication window. Separated free discovery from paid features and corrected publisher information.
Remote OK8.4 → 7.5/10Rebased the legacy total to explicit component scores and corrected the blanket free-access impression. Premium has an annual commitment; public API access does not establish access to every paid feature.
We Work Remotely8.2 → 6.6/10Corrected account and subscription information using the current official FAQ. Basic is free; unlimited applications and custom alerts are paid features. Rebased the score and retained RSS credit.
Working Nomads8.1 → 6.7/10Removed unverified catalogue-size claims, distinguished the free public list from Premium and qualified API reuse. Rebased the score; the publicly linked JSON endpoint does not establish unrestricted republication rights.
FlexJobs8.0 → 6.3/10Rebased the score under the same access/ecosystem/integration/search model. Kept credit for the provider's screening process and flexible-work discovery, while making the paywall and lack of documented public feeds explicit.
Remote.co7.9 → 5.5/10Corrected the free-only claim and removed an unsupported category count. Public pages and paid membership coexist, so the review does not claim a universal paywall. Rebased the score and clarified hybrid coverage.
Method before ranking
Can a candidate evaluate the opportunity without an unexpected cost? Does the service offer useful context beyond the listing? Is structured information available on documented terms? Can the search be narrowed to a plausible role? Those questions define our model.
Marks are editorial judgements, not laboratory measurements. This model deliberately values a wider toolkit and portable data. If you care chiefly about screening or a particular schedule, give that discussion more weight than the overall score.
Weights, rating anchors and calculationsCost, registration friction, clarity about paid features, screening information and whether a candidate can evaluate an opportunity before committing.
Useful company information, salary research, preparation resources and application support beyond a list of vacancies. A feature is not assumed effective simply because it exists.
Documented APIs, usable feeds, attribution rules and integration guidance. A public endpoint with unclear reuse terms earns less than a documented workflow.
Location clarity, role categories, salary context and the ability to narrow a search. We assess documented controls, not measured filter accuracy.

WRILS editorial teamThe guides focus on decisions a vacancy list cannot make for you: choosing a manageable source mix, interpreting salary information and distinguishing a live sample from a historical trend. Examples are illustrative, and every material links back to the scoring or data method so the assumptions remain visible.
Remote Work Index
The current sample contains 100 listings and 26 region labels. It is not a census of remote hiring. Salary visibility means a record includes salary-bound data; it does not mean a range is narrow or an offer is guaranteed.
We do not infer a hiring trend from a single refresh or quietly turn missing salaries into zeros. Read the collection limits before interpreting the distribution, then inspect the relevant vacancies.
